Our history

Daughter of Portuguese immigrant parents from the Algarve, Katia was born in Paris 9th where she grew up and lived for 42 years. After a degree in Modern Literature at the Sorbonne, she worked for 17 years as a fashion editor in Paris.

In 2014, she made a 180 degree turn and decided to leave France for Portugal... A new life, the irrepressible call to return to her roots which she will fully express in the creation of Casa Bohemia Algarve.

Born in Portugal, Aureliano grew up with his paternal grandparents in Paderne in the heart of the Algarve.

At age 7, he joined his parents in Paris, where they immigrated after his birth. A young adult very attached to his roots, Aureliano returned to the Algarve and worked for 20 years in banking, then a few years in tourism.

This inveterate lover of his region joined forces with Katia in the creation of Casa Bohemia Algarve, for which he now takes on the role of master wax maker.

They met in 1988, while they were both vacationing in the Algarve, then lost sight of each other. They found themselves 26 years later in Portugal and today live between Lisbon and the Algarve.
